The Newport School District is kicking off the 2024-25 school year with our NEW Student Information System, Alma. Alma is a comprehensive web-based student information system designed to streamline and enhance the management of student data and facilitate effective communication among school administrators, teachers, parents, and students. Alma provides a user-friendly interface for parents to monitor their child's academic progress in real time. This allows parents to stay informed about their child's performance, upcoming assignments, and school events without waiting for periodic reports.

New Student Pre-Enrollment
Here are the steps to pre-enroll your child(ren):
Current Families-if you already have a student enrolled in Newport School District please log into your Alma account to register your student. Download these instructions.
New Families-if you are new to the Newport School District, please create your Alma Start account to register your new student. Download these instructions.
Non-Resident- if you are not a resident of Newport, you will need to follow the Application Process with a final approval from the Superintendent. Contact your school for information on applying.
Upload in Alma, email or bring the required documents to the school office.

Once your enrollment form has been reviewed, you will be contacted by your school.
Students starting kindergarten must must be 5 years old before September 30. (School Board Policy JEB Age of Entrance)

Birth certificate
Immunization record
Most recent physical
Two forms of proof of residency
Utility Bill
Lease or Rental Agreement
Mortgage Documents
Driver's License
Court-Approved Parenting Plan or Court Custody Agreement (if applicable)
Annual Student Update
To ensure we have the most accurate and current information to support your child(ren)'s academic success, we require all families to update each child(ren)'s information through their Alma account.
