Transportation

Update March 26, 2025 Due to the recent driver shortage, we have taken steps to modify all bus routes to accommodate all students who use the bus.  Please take the time to review the new changes.
All Bus 5 riders will now be split between Bus 10 and 6.  Students who live on Bascom Road & Whitcher Road will now be on Bus 10.  Students who live on Spring Street, John Stark, Cutts Road and Chandler Mills will now be on Bus 6.  Students on Cary Street will now be on Bus 1.
All changes will start on March 31st 2025.

Student Conduct on School Buses
Bus drivers have the responsibility to maintain orderly behavior of students on school buses and will report, in writing, misconduct to the student's Principal. Student conduct while on District transportation is regulated in accordance with Board policy JICC, and any District or school rules implementing the same. See the District's School Bus Conduct Rules (administrative procedures JICC-R). Students who violate regulations for student conduct within those policies may have bus riding privileges suspended. Such suspensions are in addition to other interventions or disciplinary consequences provided under the Student Code of Conduct [or other such rules as termed by the district] and such other applicable Board policies and District or school rules and regulations. Parents/guardians may appeal transportation suspensions per Board policy JICC and accompanying administrative procedures.

Early Dismissal Due to Inclement Weather
Parents will be notified in advance if students need to be released due to inclement weather. Parents are encouraged to have secondary supervision plans in place in case they are unable to be at home when their child is dismissed from school before the regularly scheduled time.

Students Who Miss the Bus at the End of the School Day
School busses will not return to school when a student misses their bus. Teachers will notify the main office to hold a school bus if a student is likely to be late for the afternoon bus.

Grades Pre-K, 1, 2, and 3 (Only)
Pre-Kindergarten, kindergarten, first, second, and third grade students are the only children who will be returned to school if their parent, guardian, or older sibling is not present to receive them at the bus stop.
