Good Morning Everyone,
This is Donna Magoon, Newport Interim Superintendent. We have been informed by Eversource that the electricity to our district is expected to be back on around 6:00 am. Due to the timing and the need to inspect our school buildings to ensure the heat and all emergency panels are working, the Newport Schools will be having a 2-hr delay on Thursday, December 1, 2022. If there is a change and we need to close the schools for the day, we will send out another message notifying you of this change.

The parent advisory committee meeting for Middle School that was scheduled for tonight, November 9th is cancelled. We will let you know the reschedule date as soon as we can.
Richards School Retake Day- Thursday, November 17th
8:40am-12:00pm
Students will need to bring their booklet to the photographer if they would like retakes. Students not present on our original photo day will also be photographed.
It is that time of year again and we are here to offer support. The Newport School District would like to offer support to our families in need of a Thanksgiving Basket. If you are in need of a basket, please complete the form below. On November 15, we will reach out to schedule the delivery time. Then on November 18 or November 21, we will deliver your basket to your home. Yes, it is that easy.

There will be NO middle school Tiger Cafe today. 11/3
The Middle School Parent Advisory meeting has been rescheduled to November 9th from 6-7pm.
MIDDLE SCHOOL athletics will host a POTLUCK to celebrate the fall season on Tuesday, November 15 at 5:00 pm in the cafeteria.
Certificates will be provided for all athletes and coaches will have the opportunity to briefly recap the season.
Teams and their families are invited.
Families need to provide the following items for the celebration:
MS Boys Soccer - Main Dish or Casserole
MS Girls Soccer - Main Dish or Casserole
MS Football - Snacks & Side Dishes & Plates/Napkins/cups
MS Field Hockey - Desserts/ Silverware
Middle school and high school winter sports signups will take place at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, November 9 in the gym.
A middle school fall sports potluck will be held at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, November 15 in the cafeteria.
Come on down to Newport School District and United Way free coat Friday.
We are on the common in Newport until 2pm.

The Middle School field hockey team will now be leaving at 3:45 p.m for their Lebanon game.
The home games against Claremont Middle School on Oct. 5 (MS girls soccer, MS boys soccer and MS field hockey) have been moved to the same time on Oct. 6.

Today’s MS boys soccer game has been postponed and will be rescheduled for a later date.
