Good Afternoon Newport Families,
This is Donna Magoon, Interim Superintendent. As you are aware the weather forecast for tomorrow morning, February 3, is between -5 and -10 degrees. Please make sure your child is dressed warm, especially if they are waiting at a bus stop or walking to school.
We have been informed buses may have a hard time starting, but our transportation department is on top of this. However if the bus is late for pick up, please be patient and understanding.
Thank you and please stay warm.

Students that have a bus stop on a dirt road will not have bus transportation to school today due to their road conditions. If your child is absent from school today due to this situation it will be an excused absence. You must call the school and let them know that this is the cause of the absence. Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. We were just recently made aware of this situation from one of our bus drivers.
