Dear Newport Middle School Families:
I am writing today looking for your support with an ongoing situation. Recently students have begun using colognes and perfumes or similar products in heavy amounts during school. These products are causing adverse reactions in some staff and students making them ill or have asthmatic responses similar to those who suffer from airborne allergic responses to substances like peanuts. At this time the school is asking that students not bring these products to school in order to avoid making anyone unable to attend classes.
If you have any questions or concerns please contact me by phone at (603) 865-9658 or by email at dbailey@sau43.org.

Due to tonight's budget meeting, the parent advisory meeting has been cancelled. Principal Bailey encourages all parents to attend.

Each student received an order form for the yearbook. If they have misplaced it, they can get another from their advisor.

Middle School game schedule

There will be a Middle School Dance (winter themed) on Friday, January 20th from 7-9pm hosted by your Student Council. We are excited to get the sixth, seventh, and eighth graders all together to have a fun night. There will be snacks, treats, and drinks available for purchase outside of the gym, and a coat check. Please keep in mind that your coats will be required to be checked in with Ms. Fossa at the front entrance and will be given to you at the end of the dance. In addition, students will not be allowed to leave early unless a parent comes into the building to dismiss them, speaking directly with Ms. Fossa. We want to make sure that all students have a great time, and that means that we need to make sure that all students are safe. Thank you for helping us with that!
Students,
If you are interested in attending the dance, you must purchase a ticket Tuesday-Friday (1/17-1/20) during your lunch. Tickets will be sold for $5. Student Council representatives will be available at a table in the cafeteria. We are not selling tickets at the dance, so please be sure to purchase yours beforehand. For this dance, we are not allowing students outside of the Newport Middle School community to attend. If there is a financial concern regarding ticket purchasing, please see or email Mrs. Botelho (lbotelho@sau43.org) or Miss Fossa (ebrodeurfossa@sau43.org).
Lastly, Mrs. Botelho will be the official DJ of the dance. In an attempt to ensure that students are happy with music selections and we don't all just listen to The Beatles the whole time, please submit your school-appropriate song selections to the Google Form in your English . If there are edited versions, we will use that. You may submit as many requests as you'd like.
Please let Mrs. Botelho or Miss Fossa know if you have ANY questions or concerns, and we look forward to dancing the night away Friday!!

Please support our staff and students as they compete in Dancing with the Stars
