It's Tech Tuesday! Our wonderful Animal & Plant Sciences Teacher, and amazing Forestry & Natural Resources teacher, accompanied six of our dedicated Future Farmers of America members to the 96th National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis. There was so much to learn from all the workshops and activities. It was truly a great experience for all who attended.
Happy Tech Tuesday! Our Intro to Engineering students have done an amazing job wrapping up the quarter by putting all their new skills to the test and creating robots. The students had to combine their engineering design skills with closed loop programming to create robots that navigate autonomously. This program does so many extraordinary projects throughout the year and we will be sure to share more!
It's Tech Tuesday! Our Health Science Technologies and EMT programs had an amazing display this year at our annual EXPO and got to share information about their life saving programs . They do all kinds of hands on practice throughout the year. Here they are pictured practicing carrying a patient on a stair chair.
It's Tech Tuesday! Our Automotive Technology Program is thriving under the leadership of our new Automotive Technology Teacher, Mr. Stoddard. Level 1 students have been disassembling engines to understand how they work, proper tool use, and how to recognize problems. It looks messy, but the students don't seem to mind.
It's Tech Tuesday! Our Cosmetology students have officially moved into their renovated classroom and salon. The students are loving the space and have done an amazing job so far getting it set up. We are all excited to see the students at work when the space is fully finished.
Happy Tech Tuesday! We are all so excited that our school store opened up on October 2nd. The store is run by our level two Business students. It is an impressive, multi-department operation that provides the school with a variety of items ranging from snacks, to school themed merchandise & more!
It's our First Tech Tuesday! Every Tuesday we will be highlighting something new and fun that is happening in our Tech world here at Sugar River Valley Regional Tech Center.
Our welding program is excited to get back to work and start using their renovated welding lab! This was the first classroom space renovated, each program can't wait to see their new spaces as they finish over this year.
As we work on completing training with 2 of our bus drivers, we will be temporarily combining bus routes 1 and 7. Please review the attached new schedule for your child/rens pick up and drop off times, effective Monday, September 11, 2023. New Program - New Teacher! Thanks to the support of our community and voters SRVRTC is pleased to add a ninth CTE program for the 2023-2024 school year - Education & Behavioral Science. Veteran NHS teacher Sarah Bilodeau has been selected as the teacher for this amazing new program. Mrs. Bilodeau has taught Spanish for 11 years at NHS and we are excited to see where her creativity and passion for education takes this new CTE program. She will also remain as a Student Council Advisor for the upcoming school year. Welcome to SRVRTC Mrs. Bilodeau!
SRVRTC is excited to present our new CTE Program Coordinator: College & Career Specialist, Mrs. Kristie Howe! Kristie is no stranger to SRVRTC as she has served as the director's assistant for the past two school years. She brings a significant background in executive leadership and human resources in the private sector. We are excited to have Kristie in this new position and look forward to the growth of our college & career center and work based learning opportunities under her direction.
